We assemble your complete, ready-to-file state bonded-title packet — every required form filled in, the surety-bond application completed with the correct bond amount, and a step-by-step filing roadmap. $99 flat.
Answer six short questions. A bonded title isn’t available to everyone, and this checker will honestly turn you away if your situation doesn’t fit — we’d rather tell you now than take your $99 and fail you later.
Plan on weeks, not days — most of the timeline belongs to the state, not to us. Here is exactly how it goes.
Fill out the questionnaire below and gather your documents: your bill of sale or other proof of purchase, your photo ID, and clear photos of the vehicle’s VIN plate and door sticker.
Pay the $99 first or send the questionnaire first — either order works. We start preparing your packet when both are in.
We complete every required state form from your information, prepare your surety-bond application with the correct bond amount, and write your filing roadmap in plain steps.
Texas is two-stage: Stage 1 goes to the TxDMV Regional Service Center ($15 state fee). The state replies with a determination letter setting your bond amount; then Stage 2 goes to your county tax office together with your bond. We prepare both stages.
Sign where the roadmap tells you, buy your bond from the licensed surety named in your packet, and file at the office listed for your county. The state issues your bonded title.
In Texas the bonded title is branded for 3 years, then a clean title can be issued. In Georgia the bond stays in place for 4 years.
Texas issues bonded titles under the TxDMV’s bonded title process. It runs in two stages, and the order matters — filing Stage 2 before the state sets your bond amount gets the filing rejected. Your packet handles the sequence for you.
| Bond amount | 1.5× the state’s value of the vehicle, as set in the Notice of Determination. |
|---|---|
| Older vehicles (25+ years) | If the state’s value comes in under $4,000, it is set to $4,000 — so the minimum bond on a 25+ year-old vehicle is $6,000. |
| No Texas record of the vehicle | A law-enforcement VIN inspection (Form VTR-68-A) comes first, before Stage 1. Your packet flags this and tells you where to get it done. |
| State fees you pay | $15 (Stage 1) + $28 or $33 title fee by county. Bond premium and any sales tax are separate. |
| Hard deadline | File Stage 2 within 30 days of purchasing your bond, or the bond expires and you start the bond step over. |
Georgia issues a title by surety bond under O.C.G.A. § 40-3-28 when you own a vehicle but can’t produce its title. The bond protects anyone with a prior claim on the vehicle while the state puts a title in your name.
| Bond amount | 2× the Dept. of Revenue average retail value, minimum $5,000, 4-year term. |
|---|---|
| State fee you pay | $18 title fee. Bond premium is separate, paid to the surety. |
| Hard deadline | File within 6 months of the bond being issued. |
| Not eligible in Georgia | Vehicles from model year 1985 and older do not qualify, and abandoned vehicles are handled under a different Georgia process — a bonded title is not available for them. |

Optional add-on — $49 “rejection rescue”: if the state rejects your filing over a fixable paperwork defect, we re-prepare the corrected packet. Add it any time before you file; just mention it in your questionnaire or email us.
No. Bonded Title Packet is a document preparation service. We prepare paperwork at your direction, from the information you provide, using the states’ published forms and criteria. We are not a law firm, we are not attorneys, and nothing on this site is legal advice. If your situation involves a dispute over who owns the vehicle, talk to a licensed attorney in your state.
No. Only a licensed surety company can issue the bond, and you buy it directly from them — the premium (typically $100 or more) is paid to the surety, never to us. What we do is prepare your bond application with the correct bond amount for your state, so buying the bond is a short, simple step.
Plan on weeks. Our preparation is the fast part — once we have your payment and completed questionnaire, your first-stage packet is typically ready within a few business days. After that, the state’s clock controls the timeline: in Texas, the determination letter from TxDMV commonly takes a few weeks to arrive, and you then have 30 days from buying your bond to complete Stage 2. Most people should expect roughly 4–8 weeks from start to bonded title, depending on the state’s backlog and how quickly they file each stage.
It depends on the lien and the state. In Texas, if the lien is less than 10 years old, the state requires a release of lien from the lender before a bonded title can be issued — you’ll need to contact the lender and get that release letter first. Liens 10 years or older are generally handled within the bonded title process itself. If you’re not sure whether your vehicle has a lien, say so in the questionnaire — a title record check is part of how the state processes Stage 1, and we’ll tell you what your packet shows.
We can’t help — and neither can the bonded title process. Both Texas and Georgia require proof of how you acquired the vehicle: a bill of sale, a signed receipt, an inheritance document, or similar paperwork. A bonded title is not a way to title a vehicle you can’t show you obtained. If you bought the vehicle and the seller is reachable, ask them to sign a bill of sale now; once you have any proof of acquisition, come back and run the checker again.
Texas and Georgia now. North Carolina, Arizona, Illinois, and Florida are in preparation — join the waitlist in the coming soon section and we’ll email you when your state opens. We only prepare packets for the state where the vehicle will be titled.
If we determine we’re unable to prepare a packet for a case that passed the eligibility checker, we refund our $99 fee in full. Once a packet is prepared and delivered, the fee is earned — the preparation work is done. Decisions made by the state (approving or denying a title, setting a value or bond amount) are the state’s, and we can’t refund fees you paid to the state or to a surety company, since those were never paid to us.
Either order works: pay the $99 via Stripe first, or send this questionnaire first — we begin preparing your packet when both are in. When you submit, this form opens your own email app with everything filled in, addressed to us at devauxventures@proton.me. Just press send in your email app — nothing is sent from this page itself.
